A new study released by wireless testing firm Root Metrics concluded that AT&T’s overall performance is best while Verizon is the most reliable network. Out of 125 markets, AT&T had the best overall performance, measured by speed and reliability, phone calls, data, and texts; it tied or topped its competitors in 90 markets.  But Verizon won or tied in 102 markets when measured on the reliability index. Root Metrics CEO Bill Moore said that AT&T won the overall crown because it had a much stronger speed index than Verizon while also managing to narrow the gap on reliability. This study was based on 125 tests of individual markets, but a nationwide test is expected next month.
