California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill which outlaws “revenge porn” and imposes  a jail term (up to six months) and fines (up to $1,000) for people who post naked photos of their exes. It is now a misdemeanor in California to post identifiable nude pictures of someone else online without their permission and with the intent to cause emotional distress or humiliation. The new law makes it easier for law enforcement to protect victims from this growing practice.
